Scarlett, the whore…..Ruby, the Saint

Scarlett wore her letter

as humbly as she could,

if she could have changed who she was, easily,

then surely………surely she would.

Everyone knew her,

as the worn out looking whore…..

nothing less….

and nothing more.

By day she fed the poor and needy,

gave half of what she earned.

By night, as married *John put her to work,

a new life is what she yearned.

—————————————————-

Ruby the Saint, wore her garments so white,

looked as clean as clean could be.

She wore a smile from ear to ear,

so that her secrets

no one could see.

Everyone knew her as the prayer warrior ,

she prayed so extravagantly….

Used words to wow,

to create shock and awe,

thinking that’s what it took, to be Godly.

Ruby had a family,

two kids and a *John,

she took pride in the latter two,

but with John…..

he caused her so much pain,

she did not know what to do.

He was a minister…

a leader in the church,

so all eyes glazed over with admiration.

John put his family on a shelf,

Women_______🌷

were his temptation.

One day while worship service began,

Scarlett walked into the church,

convicted and ashamed with her head bowed low,

she sat “hidden” , in the very back row.

*John caught a glimpse

of his weekend romp,

face turned pale as a ghost.

Ms. Ruby shook her head

with a smirk on her face

and to *John, said:

“Go greet her minister.

Be a good host!”

*John looked at Ruby,

eyes wide as saucers,

not once did he bother to blink,

until Scarlett walked up to Ms. Ruby the Saint, and said;

“Thank you for the invite.

Right now, I’m on the brink.

I know I need to change my life,

but it’s so hard to do.

I did not mean to hurt families.

I did not mean to hurt you.

I’m so sorry!”

Tears flowed from Scarlett’s eyes…

“I’ve already forgiven you,

God forgave you long ago.”

Ruby the Saint, replies.

“There is nothing that you can do,

to make God stop loving you.

You and me are the same.

He died for our souls

to have life everlasting…..

and to have it, in Jesus’ name.”

As they finished embracing,

Ruby looked towards her husband,

*John sat in a corner,

quite downtrodden,

Guilt had him completely consumed.

With empathy,

Ruby touched John’s shoulder,

and said……

“God never stopped loving you.”
