Home School parents are human to, and we do not always feel like we eat “AN APPLE A DAY”. I was not feeling so well today, more like, after coming home from some early morning dinner shopping, I had to put the pj’s back on and climb back into bed. However, school must go on.
Tips on homeschooling while sick:
1.) Have some (sick day) homework assignments pre-planned, knowing that if you are unable to help the way that you normally do, the assignments still cover the daily lessons, but are easy enough for your student to work on them independently.
2.) Whatever you can do, do it from the comfort of your bed……this works perfectly well if you just have one kid, but if not, turn your bedroom into a classroom.
3.) If you have the internet, you tube is great for educational videos, abcmouse, etc.
4.) You home school for goodness sake….work around your schedule and your health. Keep YOU, healthy so that you can get back to your routine of teaching. Get some GUILT FREE rest. We are our children’s teachers, and motivators. We need to be healthy.
Survival kit for the “under the weather”, home school teacher:
1.) tea (honey)
2.) tissue (meds)
