I started my WordPress 3 years ago as a way to vent when my son became ill. I wrote down intimate thoughts and feelings and used it as a healthy outlet to release anger, rather than doing what I really wanted to do. To this day, I have no trouble at all, speaking my heart through the “press”. I have been able to network with other writers, professionals, and just over all down to earth people who live this life experiencing every feeling and situation, and writing about it. I have come across mom’s who have lost their children and have written about it through poetry, wives left looking for answers on how to deal with a cheating spouse, parents sharing advice, travelers giving the gift of “new” outlooks on life through their travels, missionaries, compassionate Christians, this list continues on.
I have grown here and became more bold in my Christian writing. My words are my character and I love sharing them. What I write, I do not always have the ability to speak, because I have this lovely stutter that gets overly excited to hear me say anything, so she creeps up in the midst of heavy conversations and often, rudely interrupts :D. However, “stacey stutter” and “tongue tie terry” are learning their places, sssslowly but sssssurely 😀
I am so Blessed to always have something to write, that is eye opening, surprising, exciting, informative, but most importantly a Blessing to anyone who will receive it as such. Writing has been the Lord’s salve in my life, in many areas. Of course He knew that it would be. So he gave me vowels, consonants, words, sentences, and showed me how to put them together in ways that touch hearts and souls, put a smile on someones face, convicts……even myself, perhaps causes some to think about what they do not want to think about.
I have waited and found reason to put my own book on halt. I have no more reasons. I will finally complete it to the end. My Grandmother gave my mom a beautiful plant that has only grown to be more beautiful. This plant has been in the family since I was a little girl. My mother has looked after it for years, and it seems to never die. It will lie dormant during certain times of the year, but comes out in full bloom when it should. To my son and any child that I may have biologically or through any other avenue, I will give them the seeds of my writing, when the time is right, for them to care for and make it grow beautifully in their own lives and in the world, like the plant that my grandmother gave to her daughter.
Some of my favorite quotes
“Every secret of a writers soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.” – Virgina Wolfe
“If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it. Or, if proper usage gets in the way, it may have to go. I can’t allow what we learned in English composition to disrupt the sound and rhythm of the narrative.” – Elmore Leonard
“Beware of advice—–even this.” – Carl Sandburg, WD
“Keep a small can of WD-40 on your desk—-away from any open flames—-to remind yourself that if you don’t write daily, you will get rusty.” – George Singleton
God Bless! Be inspired! Keep on Sharing! Keep on Writing!
