There are so many Spanish speaking Christian organizations, where the members are predominantly Latino. Before I prolong my point…..are any of them doing anything, to help legalize their members? I have a very hard working spouse. He comes home every day from work, knowing that everything he works so hard for is taxed. We are not the kind of people to discriminate, but we are not the kind of people who turn the blind eye to illegal immigration. It has affected our home more than we thought that it would. We hate it.
One evening, my husband got in a little late, and he told me that he was sitting in the car listening to the news on the radio about massive amounts of children being detained by border patrol….It is said that ad least 47,000 children have been apprehended since October, and that this may be a finely coordinated activity set up by drug cartels to tie up the border patrol, in order to push their drug supply to US soil. Our country is in serious trouble, even more. Every citizen will pay for what is happening at the border. Even our children will pay for how our government is failing their own people with their laid back and gullible laws. If the whole drug part is true, which I would not doubt it, how much more will these cartels use these children, by going into the schools and selling the supply, going into neighborhoods, etc. Men and women fought for freedom for the American people, and many of us knew ad least one person who died fighting for that freedom, but we are forfeiting all of the freedom that we have been Blessed with.
What does this have to do with churches……A LOT! Think about it, Americans, like myself, who are far from political cares and the whole nine, are indeed caring when it comes to the welfare of our people, especially our children. Pretty soon, this problem will cause such an uproar within the American society, that immigration is going to have a sweep through and start sending people right back to where they came from. Look at some of your churches…..if you have just “1” family undocumented and illegally in this country, you are failing…..they are failing. I hate when anyone comes into this country illegally, demanding the rights that belong to the citizens of the US, but rather than starting a riot about what I disdain, why not help those deserving of and qualified for citizenship?
Why not cut back on the high costing church conferences and ridiculously priced youth camps? Simplify things. You are opening your church doors to illegal immigrants then you ought to open up your hearts to help legalize them. If you know that you have members with entire families who are struggling to be legally documented, then start a campaign. Not only are you helping to keep your church family together, your helping families stay together, and believe it or not, you will be decreasing crime brought into the country. If you are scared to apply for citizenship, why? Perhaps you are hiding something and don’t need to be in the US then. Every taxpaying American and Native American has the right to question any and all who come into this country without documentation, because you will be sharing our neighborhoods, the stores we shop at, the seats next to our children at school, the parks we play at and take our children to. All of these necessities and luxuries of our country come out of our paychecks. We do not know you, your intentions, and why you are not legal. If the government won’t question….we will.
I do not know how much it costs to become a legal citizen……but how much are “conventions”, “conferences, etc. There are some who deserve to be citizens and just need the financial backing. Why not start a loan system of some sort. Your church will loan this amount or that amount to members actively participating in the church, in return for “free” electrical services, lawn work, building work, etc. Make an agreement that when they work and get paid, they will need to pay back a certain fixed amount until the loan is paid off. A little bit more personal…..how many “Paychecks” live under one roof? Help one another obey the laws of the land. I do not believe in splitting up families, but I think it is preposterous to know that your church is made up of undocumented families, and nothing is said nor done about it. It is just overlooked as if it is not an issue. Many children can be left orphaned because of this. For one…..Romans 13:1-7. We expect God to always INCREASE, When we do not always do our parts as obedient servants.
Spanish speaking churches have such a huge impact on Spanish speaking communities even non-Spanish speaking communities. Why not do something EXCELLENT with that advantage? Make yourselves blameless. How can you defend yourselves, when your in the wrong? If you want to make a change, start with the House of God and iron out the wrinkles in your own garments before you try to work on the community.
