It is almost unreal how my son will begin an accredited education next school season. Time goes by fast. I’m excited, but not excited about the out of pocket expenses that my husband and I will have to cover for his books and tuition. We are especially thankful to God for helping us to finally find the right program for him that works with the type of learner that he is. While we are Blessed to have the option of homeschooling, there are many families struggling financially to home school their children, and really have the desire to do so.
Over 1 year ago, I came across a website that helps parents/caregivers continue with their callings to give their children a Christian home school education, in the event that a spouse dies, illness hits home, spousal abandonment, etc. people can donate money to cover the cost of school books, volunteer time to families who need maintenance around the home, the yard cut, so on and so fourth.
Some of these families are thrown into these issues and changes of life so quickly that they do not always have time to prepare for it. It is much harder when there is more than one child per household. However, anyone who has the conviction and desire to home school their children should be able to, no matter what the circumstances are. For many who home school and have to abruptly change the course of their children’s education, it is devastating for a lot of reasons, but the greatest reason being that, those who are Christian, never wanted a secular education for their children.
